This was a skill practice lesson, students were requested to sketch as lightly as possible, given prints of many different types of flowers, leafs and branches. Once they outlined their circle, they had to write the first letter of their names (this could be calligraphy or any font/style of their preference) and then they had to fill in the circle with nature elements. If you have plants available in your classroom you can ask them to sketch a few from direct observation and some from the prints provided.
This project was colored using an ink and paint technique. Outline with sharpies and then fill in with watercolor. The results were lovely!
